A leading hospital needed a solution for managing long queues of people waiting to be tested at its clinics during the pandemic. It was necessary to minimize crowding as well as patient waiting times.
The CA team designed and developed a solution with the following features:
• Remote registration and appointment request to the clinic via SMS.
• Admin portal for clinic staff to view appointment requests and available time slots, computed based on clinic capacity at different times, registrations already done and walkins waiting at the clinic.
• Communication of assigned appointment slot via SMS.
• Ability for employees to use Priority code in text request.
• Communication of patient's arrival in the parking lot via text.
• Ability for clinic staff to view waiting line in the admin portal and click to call patients in for testing.
• Integration using Twilio.
The solution was implemented at multiple clinics of the hospital and helped reduce the crowd and patient waiting times. Holidays and non availability of appointment time slots were also automatically communicated to patients, thus saving them the trouble of coming to the clinic.
